Clear similarities in design, but if done with Kobold's input, then no foul.
The workhorse movement is a good idea in a watch that may be subjected to abuse. But the price - hmmm. It is either a cut price Kobold or an expensive alternative to other and better proven (or maybe even just better known) timepieces from other manufacturers.
Murph - I have no doubt that the watch is gonna be well built - it is a "reputation builder" from a guy who puts his money where his mouth is. Gotta respect that. But for a first effort at this price, it tells me that prices for his future efforts will probably be pretty "up there". Might not be a bad thing, the world could always use another mid-high end manufacturer who does good work.
Reputatuions are hard to earn and dead easy to lose. I wish RESCO well.
