I am in the minority here...

I own some but I am not a blind follower of everything they do, either - because I think that Omega has some VERY attractive models, despite the apparent "sameness" of some of them.

Gotta give Omega kudos for being innovative (Ploprof, co-ax movement, the old "bumpers", the Alaska Project... and that cool ring-in (cos it used the Accutron tuning fork movement) the f300Hz on the spectacular 120m diver I used to have...), but I see Ken's point about some Omegas leaving people cold.

Kinda like an Audi ~ too clinical for some, but way cool to some others. And then along comes an S8  V10 ... my love.gif

When (IF!!) Omega makes a 44mm Tek-Dial Aqua Terra with the dark grey face, I would get one in a heartbeat, but thats like asking for snow not to melt subtlelaugh.gif cos the AT line tops out at 42mm and has for quite a few years. Thank goodness I am patient subtlelaugh.gif. Being in "save" mode for something else helps a lot, too!

My current Omegas are Planet Oceans - one 45.5mm in SS and one in rose gold. Both keep deadly time, both get compliments from the un-cogniscenti, and I feel good wearing them. All the others (about 20 of them over the years) have come and gone. I have never had an issue with an Omega within 12 months, or at all, Ken, so ya can't make a blanket condemnation on the brand from a few bad anecdotes. Every maker has dramas sometimes... and it is certainly not just the cheapies that cr*p out on the odd occasion!

Tony - I reckon you should go for it, good sir. My POs feel great on the wrist (you would prefer the 45.5 version, I think, cos the 42 is not your "style" from what I see in your posts...), and mine are understated enough to be dressy, or dressed down. Put one of those 45.5mm orange bezelled puppies on a 22mm Omega mesh and you'll never look back!

Good hunting!
