More information on the Baselworld 2010 introduced Breitling Superocean: This is the "standard" 42mm Superocean, so makes me wonder what they have in store for the 44mm diameter Steelfish version. Looks like several chapter ring color options are available...cool...hand6.gif ![]() Breitling has revived the design of the legendary diver’s instrument it launched in 1957. While the technical qualities that have forged the Superocean’s reputation have been respected, the timepiece has been given a thoroughly new look. The rubber-moulded bezel features sloping numerals and flutes that underscore its technical nature and adventurous vocation. The strikingly distinctive dial is a continuation of the same vigorous design with applique numerals and hourmarkers standing out against the black Abyss ground, which is encircled by a blue, yellow, red, silvered or black bevelled flange. A born diver, it is water-resistant to 1,500 metres and has all the attributes of a professional instrument, like the safety valve that automatically releases the accumulated helium when the internal over-pressure reaches around 3 bar. Technical data Movement: Automatic, Breitling 17 calibre, COSC-certified, 25 jewels, 28,800 vib/h Case: 42mm Diameter, Steel, Water-resistant to 1500m (5000ft). Screw down crown. Helium valve at 10 o'clock. Double sided AR convex sapphire crystal.] Dial: Abyss Black, Abyss Silver, Abyss Blue, Abyss Red, or Abyss Yellow. Tip of seconds hand matches beveled flange (chapter ring). ![]() Last edited on Sat Mar 20th, 2010 09:40 am by stew77 |
