I have read in several places different maintenance periods for automatic watches, that are 2, 3, 5 years or "when it starts to slow down". I imagine that the recommendation is for a watch that is used every day. Maintenance is needed because of lubrication and component wearing, which should be proportional to the time a watch is ticking.

If so, does it mean that a watch that is used in a rotation 3-4 times a month (and, as it will run for 48 extra hours if automatic), should have a maintenance period that is 2-3 times longer than what can be expected on an everyday watch?

Finally, and if what I stated is valid, why would someone want to have a watch in a winder?
