Yes, as Oscar said it before: The 2836-2 with GMT feature is the most controvertial movement on the market today. It is no more mystery that at the time when ETA was selling huge amount of platforms/parts to Asia, the mounting and finishing was happening there. If I recall well, this exportation don't longer exist but I'm sure that the Chinese production is still living on old parts or new copies... This said, the 2836-2 movements and some golden 2824-2 in "no land watch" should be avoided for those who want the real thing. Still, if you want to pay lower price: Those watches can offer fully decorated movements at unbeatable price if the seller is honnest offcourse... Here is an exemple of a 2836-2 with GMT feature fully decorated and mounted in Asia with ETA parts: All stamps are there and seems genuines... ![]() ![]()
