Mont D'Or is actually based out of NYC and is distributed by Alliance watch....they do claim that they are made in Bienne,Switzerland but I do not believe they are or were part of Swatch Group...I could be wrong?....problem with these types of off brands is they have no resale value and no appreciation as far as value compared to a known name brand....the price still seems high and I'm not sure what 173 grams of 18K gold is worth but I'm pretty sure it isn't $5000. and is more like $4000. and that depends on if his weight calculation is with or without the movement ,crystal and caseback which are not 18K....
