After the restoration of my Tudor sub I have been experiencing a renewed passion for submariners. I have been looking for a nice vintage sub for a while now to fill the gap between my 60's Tudor and my 80's ND 14060. This "transitional" model 16800 found me yesterday, and I snapped it up. It is pristine, and just had a complete overhaul by the Rolex agents. It is a 1979/80 model, and very interesting if you're interested in subs. This was the first sub to have a sapphire crystal. The dial is matte black, with large tritium markers. The markers do not have the white gold borders as is the case with later models. In fact, the later 16800's already had these borders.
