So today I present to you a newly inherited Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Submariner. The family doesn't think this is a real Rolex. So I happily offered to buy it and it was given to me for a wedding gift. Here are a few things that have me confused.

The lume still works pretty well. For being such an old watch I don't see why a fake would have used real tritium paint (T<25 on the dial).

The crown is not signed, it looks like the Rolex logo may have popped out at some time, this to me screams fake, but I really have no clue about old Rolex's designs,real or fake.

When you pull out the crown there is still a rubber seal in there, which builds my confidence in the crown a bit.

The dial reads as follows:

ROLEX
oyster perpetual date

SUBMARINER
1000ft=300m
superlative chronometer
officially certified

Then down at the bottom of the dial it says:

swiss -- T<25

And yes the bezel insert is missing.
What do you guys think???
