 You rarely here about "gold-filled" these days with the chintzy 3 to 10 microns of gold electroplating which constantly wears off.  Gold filled standard used to require a minimum of 1/20 inch (or, I believe, 70 microns) of gold so that it would not wear through...in fact, it was difficult to scratch through to the base metal which was usually Sterling Silver!
