 Very nice color for a strap. Did you apply some mink oil on it to keep it more water-resistant? What do you use for the purpose.

I'll share a small story with you since you're into straps. Here's an old carpenter's belt I bought in Mexico decades ago that I accidentally found lying around the garage a couple of months back. I liked the old, ageing leather which showed some personality with its scratches and swirls. It also had some sentimental value because that was the belt I used when I taught my 2 sons some carpentry work when they were little.

So off to my favorite strapmaker it went. The belt came back to me in Auckland 2 weeks later. Here are the 2 straps it got converted into:

Now, I'm going after vintage Wilson or Rawling's baseball gloves from the '50s. Hard to find a shortstop's mitts but that's what I'm hunting down. I used to play shortstop when I was a teen.
