boy10.gifparty.gif yup, here is a new arrivalanodie.gif and I am super excited... sometimes a new watch doesn't click at all or right away when I open up the box... With this one, I was unsure what expect and whether I'd like it. I had never owned this type of dressy and vintage timepiece, also its size is smaller than what I am used to and been buying. In fact, I sold a watch I loved in terms of style and functionality and quality... because it was smallish at about 40mm.

Lately I have been only buying and keeping divers, my favorite watches and most are 42-46mm. But I have been lacking in the dress watch department and wanted something to wear to work that was dressier, and had class. I almost bought a Hami Viewmatic and then I got the Orient announcement email for this LE 60th Anniversary watch and I thought it looked perfect for what I was looking for.

So I pulled the trigger last week and the watch arrived today. To my surprise, it was love at first sight!subtlelaugh.gif and it is rare for me... especially because it is a 39mm watch! I strapped it on my wrist as soon as our admin dropped the box on my desk. I kept looking at it this afternoon, so happy about my latest arrival and having finally added a dress watch to my collection.ThumbsUp02.gif I know it's no Rollie or Panerai... no big gun but I'm thrilled and think the watch represents great value for the $.

They made 1500 of the silver model and 1500 of the gold version, in commemoration of Orient Watch Co's 60th anniversary.  It has a very classic design and is powered by a hand-wound movement with a 40-hr power reserve. Each model is individually serialized. The domed dial has a vintage look to it also due to its color/texture, the vintage styling is emphasized by the domed crystal too. The simple case, rounded shapes and overall classic design makes this a very elegant watch. "The dial and caseback bears the serial number and the cursive ORIENT logo, used in the 1950s, as well as the legend “60th Anniversary,” testifying that the watch is a 60th Anniversary Model."

I have only worn it a few hours so far but I am very pleased with its look and the way it wears. It seems to be very well built as well and is a great value. I know its design and size are not for everyone but I am super happy!sponge bob.gif

Here are a few quick pics I took at work... and outside in the parking deck on my way out to a meeting.

Thanks for reading! Soon two more arrivals mistake.gif.
