The second day I had my pvd meg 2, it came into contact with the very sharp aluminum corner of a drawer on my toolbox that was so sharp it could have cut a finger. It looked awful: like a thin straight scratch running from the edge of the bezel down the side of the case. When it happened I could hear the "scrape". Very bummed out, I put on the optivisor and picked up a rouge cloth. What I thought was a scratch was just aluminum residue that came off with a light rub of the cloth, good as new. The sharp corner hadn't scratched the pvd at all, I was impressed.....and very relieved! I know, shoulda taken some pics.....Granted aluminum is softer than steel, but I've had other pvd items that will scratch from less.

Also, I suggest getting the Meg 2 and the Moray 2...very different watches, and both exceptionally cool!
