Congrats tommy_boy!!! Nice classic look and a great deal to boot. ![]() No need to worry about "charging" the tritium tubes, because they are self-powered and require no charging from another source...they glow continuously with the same intensity day or night (with a very slow decay over many, many, many years) and no amount of exposure to UV will charge them. With the "tubes" you will not get that really intense initial glow that you get with regular and superluminova type lumes that rely on phosphorescence to glow after exposed to UV and solar exposure, but you will find that deep into the night the tubes will generally glow brighter and outlast the phosphorescent type lumes. I have found that you generally have to give your eyes time to dark adapt to fully appreciate the "always-on" tritium lume...at least that is what I've experienced with tritium on Ball timepieces.
