They have in the past years added ground work/grappling though it was not included when I did.

Savate is also called Boxe Francaise, or French Boxing where one uses both hands and feets to hit the opponent, and also a cane/baton. Some also included knife handling though more form a defensive standpoint. Supposedly it was a form of fighting originated on the docks, used by marine merchants long long ago. Fighters do not hold each other and keep their distance to hit the opponent with high kicks for example. They have in the past years added ground work/grappling though it was not included when I did.
