it's not that soft Will..it is a bronze alloy which was discussed in the Benarus forum last year when the watch was being talked about...same as the Anonimo....I only stated that if someone were to use a case hardened screw that it may not need to be tapped/threaded on the small end and should be able to forge threads on it's own...this faux screw springbar is very secure and I don't see why anyone would want to replace it with a screw?..this springbar is thick in the center much like a Panny tube that is used to reinforce their screw lug...
