Chick I have owned both and still own the Steinhart. My feeling is the MKII is way over priced and the Steinhart is a steal! I like the outside bezel on the Steinhart better also, the MKII markers are a little too bold for me. I have not worn the same watch for more then a few days in a row in years and I really cannot see either watch wearing out even if you did wear it day in day out so IMHO I would buy the Steinhart and save the cash for the next new release
