Squale pulls off that vintage look very well and has a very cool history too. Yes, that black bezel is original...when I was looking for one of these, I was trying to locate a polished bezel model and simply could not find one. Although I am the second owner of this one, I do know that this one came from princeton watches (the only US distributor of Squale as far as I know). The story on these is that Squale put together a bunch of these from NOS parts (note the "T Swiss Made T" on the dial)...the only polished bezel versions that I saw were coming from Italy and princeton was selling these in this version (polished case, pvd bezel), and also an all-pvd version. These were being sold just last year...I think princeton watches sold out of these sometime late in 2010. I have heard a rumor that Squale intends to build the 50 atmos and bring it to market sometime this year with a superluminova dial. ...kind of like they did with bringing back the 101 atmos (labeled as the Squale 2002 Professional on the princeton watches site) I guess.
