Well...so you've already been drooling at Oscar's Bali Ha'i GMT new arrival, and I love the look of that GMT bezel that he mounted up on this sweet one from Chris at Bali Ha'i. I haven't attempted a bezel change yet, so I thought I'd post up my new arrival (arrived a couple days ago) on the standard sapphire inlay bezel. I'm not typically one to go for a MOP dial, but when I saw the Bali Ha'i design with those sweet, laid-back Bali Ha'i hands and the serious case/bezel design of this GMT diver, I decided that the MOP dial really fit the overall personality of this one (heck, it might be my one and only MOP dial ever...and I'm ok with that). What can I say, I'm lovin' it!!! ![]() As expected, build quality is awesome...love the excellent 120 click bezel action which, IMO, is a step above many makers...very precise with a bit of 'seiko smoothness' mixed in for those that are familiar with Seiko bezel action IMO. The ETA 2893-2 winds so buttery smooth and is a real standout. Love the serious case and bezel design, and also love the high quality ratcheting diver extension which serves double duty as a micro-adjustment (I'm also glad that the bracelet fits my wrist perfectly with only link removal too!). As much as I love the ss bracelet, I'm thinking this beauty would really look great on an Isofrane too (so I may have to order one up!!!). And then the MOP dial...I am really liking it...gives off a very silvery/grey appearance in full sun, and shows more of it's colors (which include blue, violet, green, pink, and silver) in more subdued lighting conditions. Here are some pics...many in low light so my apologies for the focus with the p&s, but I did get to take a wrist shot in full on sun! I'm liking this one a whole lot! ![]() Cool Bali Ha'i caseback...yes, life is good on the Bali Ha'i! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited on Wed May 4th, 2011 10:28 pm by stew77 |
