We had to put our 12 year old Vizsla 'Cooper' down last night after a sudden diagnosis and quickly declining health trying multiple treatments...in the end, it became the most humane thing we could do...a very difficult decision for us, and we sure do miss him greatly today...

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, I lost my faithful doggie in 2007 after 14 wonderful years with her.. After the pain I felt for this loss I decided to never owning another pet... It's been 4 years and I feel the same... I understand your loss mate.

Thanks for the kind words Ricardo.  you rock.gif

...tough stuff...our beagle is only 4 years old and is clearly already missing her playmate.  I hope that we can move beyond the loss and add another dog at some point.

Some great dog quotes:

"Old men miss many dogs"  (Steve Allen)

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole."
(Roger Caras)

"The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven, not man's."  (Mark Twain)

"If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went." (Will Rogers)

My theory is you get another companion ASAP. I've been without a dog for only three weeks since 1990. It seems a little calous but really each pet is special in their own way. I just cannot love without having that element of companionship in my life.
