After some encouragement in the WRUW threads, I've decided to give this a full "new arrival" post.

The Holystone is one of two offerings from RedSea Watches, a new watch company.
It comes in either SS or PVD.

I preordered a Holystone SS back in June of 2010 and then switched to PVD after a few other SS purchases while I was waiting.

The watch stats are:
  • Case: 44mm 316L Stainless Steel (or PVD)
  • Lugs: 22mm
  • Height: 14mm
  • Movement: Miyota 9015 (28,800 BPH)
  • Lume: LÜM-TEC® (Blue)
  • Water Resistant: 300M
  • Crystal: AR Undercoated Sapphire
It comes in a nice two-watch carrying case with 2 NATO straps (black and black/red stripe), a rubber strap, and bracelet.  A nice touch is that the NATOs rings and the rubber strap buckle are color matched to either SS or PVD.

Unfortunately, there were some issues with the PVD on the bracelets, so they were sent back to be re-coated.  I opted to receive the watch early, rather than wait for the bracelet to arrive.  I have to say, I appreciate Josh & Troy not shipping the bracelets until they were up to standards.

Overall, I've really like the watch.  It's not as tall as some of the other divers, which makes it easier to wear to work, and the 9015 is a good movement.  The 24 hour numbers on the dial are a little unnecessary, but it doesn't detract from the balance of the dial because the date is slotted in (the Six Pounder has a cleaner dial).

Definitely a good first offering from a new company.

Ok, enough talk, here are the photos:

Travel Case:

The lume is from Lum-Tec and glows a "cool" blue.  I've noticed that it takes a bit more to charge than on my Helson or Omega.
