First off Welcome to 3T RWS!!!and Ty for your input!hand6.gif..I have heard similar stories with the Hamilton service facilty in N.J and not just about TJ purchases and wonder why they have such a problem with servicing any HamiltonWatch within Warranty Time constraints I understand there are many such AD's who won't work on anything they don't sell ?...I have a local AD of many fine Brands locally who has no problem with service work regardless of where it was purchased and still under warranty...and it's probably why they are still in business since 1920! The local TJ's here fills out the back of the receipt with serial#,date.model etc... and insists that the warranties are covered and will not issue a refund if the warranty booklet is not intact....why go to these lengths if it were not true... It is a the Khaki field automatic chronograph 42mm with the valjoux 7750 movement.
The register at the "12 o'clock" position, wouldn't increment when the large second hand passed 12.
TJM was very accomodating and agreed to refund my money, even after their return period, but I wanted to keep the watch. Ultimately, TJM refunded the amount that Hamilton was charging me to fix it. That was a great jester on TJ's part.
Edit: It's 8:30 EST. The Service Center in Secaucus, NJ opened at 8:00.
I called them. They still stand by their position that TJ Maxx is not an AD, nor do they have any "agreement" to make any sort of warranted repairs. I guess this thing is still unresolved.
