Congrats Doc on a Sweet Seiko Buddy!I have one here somewhere but in the TV case/brown dial but with the same movement...runs like a champ!now what year were you born though...59' or 62' watch2.gif I don't know if anyone has noticed but I've been on a Seiko kick these past few months I developed a fascination with the development of their magic lever system, their early attempts at commercially viable automatics, and several other things. The other night I was cruising the internet and found a watch that fits both the Birth year slot and the 1st commercially viable automatic from Japan categories

The Cal 290 - Seiko Gyro Marvel entered production in 1959 at the SUWA Factory. My watch was produced in 1962.

I'm waiting patiently for the USPS guy to bring the EMS package
