You know, usually I only wear bracelet or rubber straps. But this VDB canvas (got it from Stephan) is awesome. Really comfortable, despite the thickness.

The canvas looks great! ...the 2017 looks really great on this thick strap (thick straps in general will complement this version very nicely IMO!)

Maybe I would try a thick leather strap.
Like you say, this watch with this lugs are made for thick straps.
