Does anyone even know what could happen? What would be the affect of being bombarded with lithium ions? Each one of you out there should demand reperation from anyone would sold you such a toxic device. First we need to find out, exactly, what type of toxic substance we are caring around. Second, we should get Material Data Sheets from the person(s) who sold them. Third, take it to a lawyer.

As seen on the ShopNBC URL posted above:
"Mechanical watches help to protect the environment: The batteries used in quartz watches are classified as hazardous waste and on average, every US citizen owns two “button battery” watches. Hundreds of millions of these batteries are used yearly all over the world, and only a fraction of these find their way into organized hazardous waste deposits."
This has got to be the most rediculous thing they have done (other than the selection of a"watch host" of dubious reputation).
I, for one, certainly thank my lucky stars that one of the hurricanes this year did not hit a quartz watch battery factory and unleash a devasting torrent of toxic waste on mankind. I believe this is a typical example of what some refer to as "extremism"! :D :D :D
