Just to dispel any myths about us "mechanically inclined , self taught watch guys"... I learned the lesson about the set screw for the crown and stem while I was taking those photos. Rather than risk that movement for the sake of exploration I am going to opt to send it to an expert for an overhaul since it is the only accutron 218 I have and I would prefer that it was running rather than know how to tear it down! On the plus side I have a "vintage" accutron box set that will make an amazing combination with the watch once it's tuned up and running!
