Actually IMO, comic books are good fro them....they fuel the imagination!!!

I think comics are a great idea too. It joins the visual and written. Plus, anything that gets them interested in reading is a good thing. Most boys tend to be a bit bloodthirsty (although I think my daughter might end up being more so than my son!) and comics tend towards some sort of violence, even the mild. If it keeps 'em interested, it's a good thing, IMO!
