Just ordered this reissue of a mechanical chrono made in 1963 for the Chinese Air Force. After seeing the blue and red hands, I had to have one. Venus sold the tooling for their 175 movement back in the early sixties so they could focus on their new Venus 180 movement. The Chinese had been planning to use the Russians' 3017 chrono movement used in the Poljot Strela, but tensions between the two superpowers precluded that arrangement. The Chinese writing on the dial and case back read "China" and "Tianjin Watch Factory." The image on the back is derived from the Chinese Air Force. The display back photo is only to illustrate the movement beneath the steel case back.
