Actually it looks difficult but when you do it hands on, it is quite easy. The only thing is to be careful with the collar of the pin.

Like Watchrick said, one can do it in a big box. WhatI myself do is to place a cloth like T-shirt material on the table when I do, so that when the collar jumps, it won't bounce that much. ;)
