Hello.  Thanks for letting me be a part of your community.  I will now attempt to introduce myself.

I've always worn a watch since about second grade.  I just recently really got into them.  I never paid attention to them before, and only had one watch at a time for some 23 years.  I slept, showered, and swam in them; they never came off.

Just recently I learned that now I'm not supposed to shower with a 1000m diver watch.  Boggles my mind, and I don't want to accept it.

Sure, metal and rubber expand at different variances with heat and steam, but the rubber expanding more would just make it more water tight to me...  Yeah, I understand that maybe this constant expansion of the seals would wear them out quicker...

Anyway, (I sometimes go off on tangents) I am not a collector or anything.  I just really wanted a watch that I could "love", because I've only ever just had watches that I didn't care to even look at.

So, I started doing research, and then forums popped up, and there was a spark lit under my buttocks, and I couldn't stop the chaos.

I then got a couple watches, figuring I would try them out, and choose one, and sell the rest.

Then I couldn't choose one, and then I became obsessed with all the little differences in all my timepieces, and it's become an online shopping addiction, and I'm crying out for help.

This is a support group, right?
