Wasn't knocking it...just have never seen it...and yes, more loft equals more carry (and usually, much less side spin if hit off center).  I hit a fairly high ball to begin with with, and it has nothing to do with "old man"...hell, I use senior flex shafts.  It just was strange to me as my 3-wood is 15 degree.  Another difference is that you are probably playing greener (wetter) courses which means a lower trajectory will not get the same "release" as on the harder fairways out hear.  To me, it doesn't matter what clubs you play, as long as you get the results you want!

That said, I would kill to be able to hit a straight 280 drive on a consistant basis.
