This ties back to the Sellita discussion a few days ago in time talk.
The original movement from this Gruen (2824-2) is humming along in an Invicta Tungsten Tide somewhere now and I had a couple of SW-200's here on the workbench so I adjusted them and checked them to be sure they still had all their parts and one came up with one in working order running at +4 seconds in 24hrs after adjustment. I swapped the signed Gruen rotor onto the SW-200 and left the black Invicta rotor on the workbench.
Since the Gruen doesn't have a screwdown crown there is no issue with crown and date troubles like many of the SW-200's have in the invicta divers.
Also of note the SW-200 uses traditional Incabloc shock protection rather than the newer cheaper Novadiac shock protection. (the manufacturer says Novadiac is just as good but cheaper to produce)
At any rate the SW-200 appears to be a better grade than the china 2824-2 that was in it and the watch is actually quite amazing with solid links, solid end links, and metal movement ring it reminds me of much more expensive watches!
