Second time I've heard mention of a digital type beater. Truth be told, I don't have one except for a puny little waveceptor that would either melt or get wet... Could be a hole in my collection but one I'm not so inclined to jump on for whatever reason.
I DON'T HAVE ONE EITHER AND I WAS THINKING THE SAME..  I WAS LOOKING AT PATHFINDER OR SUUNTO JUST FOR THIS PURPOSE..  IF I KEEP HOLDING OUT LONGER FOR EMERGENCY...  (YEAH RIGHT, $200 VS $5000, I BETTER KEEP DREAMING..)  ALSO, SPENDING $5K ON EMERGENCY, IT WOULD BE IN MY POCKET THE WHOLE TIME.

I AGREE.  FORTIS IS A TANK BUT I WOULD WEAR MY SINN 757 BEFORE FORTIS FOR THIS PURPOSE.
