I am keen to get other folks opinion on this.... When I started collecting watches, I set myself some rules about what would go into my collection. My main rules were: Rule 1: only watches that have a significant emotional impact on me (and others), that I would wear on a regular basis (not watches that are valuable to the market but not wearable by me....I am not a speculator or trader) Rule 2: nothing less than 40mm case size Rule 3: nothing goes out (I have never sold a watch - only a significant change in my financial situation or what 'does it for me' would force me to sell something) Rule 4: no quartz movements (this is connected to craftmanship, the need for care, uniqueness etc.) So far I have been able to expand my collection happily and stay within these 'rules'. But..........I am increasingly finding that there are watches that meet Rules 1 & 2 but violate Rule 4! Actually it was Mark's Ocean7 G-2  over on 'New Arrivals' that finally prompted me to seriously question Rule No. 4. I am guessing that most people are guided most by somethign like my Rule 1, but I would be really interested in other people's collecting 'rules' and specifically.....give me some arguments to help me convince myself that 'quartz is OK' .........so that I can buy a G-2!
