Really cheap quartz watches tend to have batteries that crap out after a year or so.

I have a six or so Quartz watches. If you get a good watch with a battery life rated at 3-5 years, you won't be changing that often. And, there are a number of watches with 10 year batteries (lithium, I believe). Really cheap quartz watches tend to have batteries that crap out after a year or so.
