For the price the Tissot Seastar 1000 is a pretty good value and a sturdy watch.  I especially like the lack of cyclops on the crystal, despite the tiny date window.  That said, I've owned two and flipped both (the silver and black dial) - in the end, I didn't care for the polished finish up top (its brushed on the side - I prefer it brushed completely, or polish on surfaces I cannot see, as I hate the shine and bling).  The rubber band was top notch, among the best I've ever had on any watch.  The bracelet was fine but again, I did not like the polished finish.  Also the hands were a little thin and arrow second hand was small (the "T" counterweight was cool though).  For $300 its a good watch.  Never had any watertightness problems like reported on other boards.

As for the comparison to the Oris TT1 above, when I compare both Tissots to my Oris TT1 Titan, I find the Oris to be superior in almost every way, but to each their own.  The Oris Titan though, is slightly thicker than a normal TT1, so maybe thats why I like it more.  Only hangup with the Oris is the presence of polished links on the bracelet, but then maybe I am just odd in liking brushed/blasted finish instead of something flashy that will attract attention.
