Hi All,

I have a NOS Valjoux 7765 handcranker chrono that needs a little TLC.  I have no idea how long it sat on a shelf before I got it so I am not sure the condition of the movement.  It runs about 1 sec fast per hour, which to me is a bit much as my 7750's are good to a few seconds per day.  From what I read the 7765 is a variant of the 7750.  So far I have been quoted a low of $80 to a high of $400 for a COA.  There are no decent watchmakers here, just battery changers and Rolex only types.  As a result I am used to sending things out for service but I have been burned and am leary of some of the "nationally known" watchmakers.  One of them hosed me big time and as a result I won't touch vintages any more, but I digress.

The sad part is that I am in PA, former home of Hamilton and current home of the NAWCC.

Any suggestions on who is good and who to avoid?

Thanks in advance!

Sincerely,
Griff
