Hi everyone,

Just curious what you guys think of the phenominon when a auto chrono sweep hand does not sweep smoothy around the dial, but rather has a slightly erratic or jittery motion?  It seems this phenonminon is not limited to low end watchs and can afflict everything from Hamiltons to Mille Miglas.  Mine are very subtle, and you have to really watch to see it.  Others that I read about are more severe, and can pause for a second or two and then resume. It doesn't affect timekeeping or accuracy.

For me personally, I have owned about 15 V7750's and one 2894-2 with the chrono module.  Of those, I have had 2 7750's with the jitters, and the 2894-2 also has it.  The 2894-2 was sent in for another issue and I pointed out the problem with the jitters.  It came back the same way and I was told this is "normal".

In my reading, I have read the following, and am not sure what or who to believe, and would love to hear some of your opinions...
  • Don't worry about it, it is normal on 7750's and will "break in" and smooth out.
  • This is caused by gear mesh and is normal, don't worry about it.
  • It is NOT normal and can be corrected quite simply by an experienced repairman.
  • It is a warranty issue that should be covered.
  • NOT a warranty issue and just live with it.
Please feel free to provide your experience and expertise on this I value all yur opinions.

Thanks,

Mark
