Very true. I do sometimes time approaches with one, though, but you can do that with a dive watch. Microlights tend not to be equipped with much in the way of instrumentation but they have what you need to get from A - B with VFR. Here's a pic when I was flying a seaplane in Taby just outside of Stockholm in Sweden. I was actually just completing my seaplane rating in that shot.
