I cannot answer for all, just for me. IMO the design of the Scorpion was just "so-so". Additionally, it was high priced compared to other, more unique entries into the boutique market...the last discussion I remember (here) was concerning the name change...most did not care for it.
That said, I didn't care for Bathy's either (not design, price or business ethics) and am ambivalent about Ocean7, which does have its supporters here!
I'll echo what Ken has said here. To be clear though, there was and is no back story.
And don't believe what Ken says about O7... he's after my G-1 GMT!!
