Since about October, I have been seeking the ulitmate in Panerai homage and have sought far and wide for that perfect watch. This forum was instrumental in many aspects of that search and the education on different specifics that make Panerai...well, a Panerai. I ALMOST pulled the trigger on a International Watchman...but decided to excercise patience and keep searching.
I have been to so many forums sometimes I forget which one I'm on. I have seen pretty much all of them....homage, replicas that look like utter crap and replicas that were so amazing in detail it was almost mind blowing in their execution.
My focus has been homage, I'm not a big fan of replica anything. I believe in giving credit where credit is due in that respect. A great homage on the other hand I personally find, acceptable.
They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, and when executed well...makes it worth while. I wanted to get your impression on this one in question. I have been very impressed with the parts and labor placed into it.
This was the first attempt above using a JimmyFu watch case that apparently is the pinnacle for great homage or replicas alike. I believe a standard Swiss ETA 6497-1 was used for this one above.
