Now for the pic, I think you should try not to fire the flash. There is a MANUAL mode, use the manual mode and set the shutter speed to lower speed(meaning more seconds of exposure), so that the color will look more natural. Use self timer if possible and use a tripod or minipod.

You have to try not to use flash cos usually flash is too harsh on pics taken by digitial cameras.:)
