There is no gas inside the watch:? the helium release valve is a tool on the watch usually a screw down crown that allows you/the diver to release the harmful helium that get's inside the watch during/after a dive hand6.gif

What about the gas that was inside the watch when you opened did the gas come out and now you dont have the feature with the helium valve.
