Tony I have the same as yours except the blue hands - I feel alot better about things now - glad I didn't break it, the spring i referred to is when the lever is closed on the winding position it snugs up to the case a bit, I think that all is well.
Now that I think about it, how stiff should it be to wind? I don't want to overdo it. I realize that its sort of a subjective thing, but my auto Air King winds a lot easier when in the winding position!
