Well, was at an important meeting representing the Trust I work for today, so put the CSAR on the OEM bracelet. Still have it on the bracelet and am actually enjoying it more and more. Still searching for a fitting rubber strap for it, though. I did wear the OEM rubber strap for a day earlier in the week and whilst it was incredibly comfortable, it just doesn't work on a watch of this size. A 160 gram watch head needs something a little more substantial than a 2mm thick rubber strap that tapers to what must be 18mm, though I haven't measured the buckle. Soo, with that in mind I ordered a few decent looking dive straps to try out. None of them were expensive but all are pretty decent lookers and reasonably thick and robust: This first one is a heavy 26mm strap which is very similar to the old CSAR OEM strap that I have but a lot beefier: ![]() ![]() My plan is to notch it to 22mm at the lugs and colour the thread black. The second one is a 24mm from the same seller which looks promising, too: ![]() ![]() The last one is also 24mm but it looks like the main strap is 22mm and the lugs are 24mm, so it should be easy to notch it perfectly: ![]() All are advertised as natural rubber and not silicone. Looking forward to getting these. Will post some pics on the CSAR when they show up. Note: these images are from the eBay auction pages, just rehosted. The last one is from ID thorntonwatch.
