Hay Rick welcome to 3T it's a great community for the watch lover at all levels.

I'm no pro but have been in the game for awhile. So will give ya a basic reply to these questions and will let the big hitters go into details if needed. The Orients are very good watches too. ;)

1) The big thing that affects price is advertising. If a watch company like Rolex dumps millions into a add campaign they will bump the price to get as much of that back if not more over time. It's about making money. Smaller brands who go more on word of mouth like Enzo or Orsa can afford to set a lower price due to the lack of the add push.

2) It all depends on the type of watch really the brand name the demand for it and rarity can change things too. Some watches will devalue some stay the same and some gain value. There is a very big and wide swing in all this. And it can depend on the owner/collector too.

It's a very fun hobby or addiction as some guys wives seem to think. Thanks God I'm single I would go nuts having to ask to buy a watch every time. LOL :D
