 Because of high import taxes, most buyers want you to make false statements about what is in the package (a crime in the US).  ...then, it can only be insured (at best ) for the amount declared.  Shipping charges are high and there is the "paperwork", but the paperwork alone is not enough to make it unreasonable.

What I really hate is that most foreign custom "units" are extremely slow and inefficient.  A package can get overseas in a matter of a couple of days, and then sit in customs for weeks on end...then comes the ranting, raving and accusations from the buyer...."you didn't send it", "you lost it", "I want my money back", paypal disputes, etc...and you eat up your life for selling a $200 watch overseas!

I actually had a watch I shipped back to pokemonyu for replacement arrive in Singapore 2 days after I mailed it.  It then sat in SIN Customs for 6 weeks prior to delivery to pokemonyu!
