The Poljot company was started in Moscow by Stalin in the 40's I believe when he bought the Dueber-Hampden watch company of America. They were making high end packet watches at the time under the Hampden name, so the Poljot watch line is based upon an American pocket watch design and has evolved since then. I think if you google Poljot or Russian watch history you will find some interesting reading. I just ordered a Moscow Classic and looking forward to geting it.
