To simply answer your question Pax...the Poljot and Molnija 3603 are identical...there is also a Buran and Aviator 3603 also the same movement...it is the # that represents the movement hand6.gif This is the movement that looks like the Unitas used in the Panerai design and is most used by replica manufacturers for that purpose other than in Russian watches.Just as the Unitas ....the Molnija which is the true name of the movement started out as a pocket watch movement....very solid movement and easily decoratedwatch2.gif
I've been looking a little at some Russian hand crankers and have a little confusion over movements. I see some with what are being called pocket watch movements. One is the Poljot 3603 and the other the Moljina 3603. Is this the same movement? Sure looks the same to me but what do I know? That's why I am asking!!
