The term "Platinum" refers to the finish of the movement....the platinum series eta is considered the top grade eta(non chronometer grade) and it is used in the SeaPro World Racer Danny spoke of on the show which I ownhand6.gif...there is also a "Gilded" or gold standard,a nickle finish, and fully decorated elabore but this does not mean they are chronometer grade which are predominately used in COSC certified watches and uses a better balance wheel and shock system to meet the high standards set by COSC....here is a link to a good tutorial on eta grades as well as how to detect a chronometer grade movement as well as what is a better shock system and balance wheel as all eta's are not created equal posted here on 3T some time ago....if you use the search engine here you will find pages of info on eta movements, grades and finishes...what to look for and what to avoid....also if you check the links section of 3T you will find Dr.Rannfts complete guide to all watch movementswatch2.gif
