 I use a Mac. You can easily upload a picture from your desktop or hard drive. Just click on browse and upload the pic. As for photobucket you need to type in the html here for each photo.

To get them uploaded on photob. itself, I would imagine they have some sort of upload process or you may need an FTP program. I don't use photobucket myself, so maybe someone else can help.
